Marvel Comics Universe Float from the 1988 Macy’s Parade

This simply has to beseen to be believed – the world was going to understand comics once and for all… well, maybe not. I wonder how many times those poor actors had to go through this rigamarole during the course of that morning…

Yeah it was a generation thing!

  3. MightyTrebor says:

This was heroic effort for a parade (it even made me smile)!
But it seems like no-one did their homework!
Where the hell was Stan Lee? On vacation?
    Excelsior!
Did I win a no-prize for this post?

  4. ZerqTM says:

    *BTTF (back to the future)

  5. ZerqTM says:

    WTF WTF WTF WTF!!!

BTF theme does not belong in marvel!!!!!!

    NOOOOOOOOOO!!! it sooo annooying!

    also
they should have had deadpool on a rooftop close by with a sniper rifle as a dramatic finish to cap X)

    this saddens the nerd community

So Captain America uses his shioeld as nothing more than a costume element, Power man is held by chains that Cptain America easily breaks, and Cap does nto break his knuckles on Dr. Doom’s mask, Doom, Goblin, and Power Man all catch the Hulk, the White Quen lloks like she doesn’t know what to do, and Robocop steps into the middle of this with no gun, all to the music of Back to the future…at least the costumes fit……

  8. Applemask says:

This is the chemical opposite of cool.

  9. Justshutitoff says:

It may be corny, but it made more sense than most Marvel comics in the current lineup.

  10. JEH78 says:

I was waiting for Marty McFly to pop up somewhere. Nice to know Willard Scott is no longer scared.

  11. Renegademaster123 says:

what the hell….I cryed laughign it wast
cool but funny as hell i couldnt take it seirouley why were they running around, there was no plot, i cryed laughing

  12. Herald8 says:

Lol, yeah things were a lot cornier in the ’80s

  13. 0BatGirl0 says:

LOL, Back To The Future theme.
God, that was horrific and back in ‘88 unless you were into the comics. Most people in the audience would have had no idea who these guys were and I sure as hell wouldn’t want to knww after seeing that.

  14. moonymonster says:

    So…so…corny….

And why are they using Back to the Future music? WTF?

  15. heine71 says:

This is from 1987, not 1988.

  16. papajoemambo says:

Robocop steps through the door after Cap clocks Doctor Doom and flips the switch electrocuting him – Luke Cage is on his knees as Robo comes through the door (right around the 1:24 mark)

  17. papajoemambo says:

It’s Robocop, alright. Robocop was part of the Marvel Action Hour at the time.

  18. papajoemambo says:

Spidey was inflated and floating over the street while this was going on.

  19. klearkalet says:

Where can you see the robocop, the only persons who reminds me him is doctor Doom.

  20. rich23483 says:

It might not have been RoboCop as such, looked like him, but could have been Ultron. And why the ‘Back to the Future’ movie theme? Still, it did seem fun!

  21. papajoemambo says:

Spidey was 30 feet tall and filled with helium, prowling on the end of huge tethers.

  22. ielle77 says:

oh my god that was wretched (and don’t feel bad i too knew everyone but the chic). May i just say wolvie wouldn’t need captain’s help to fight just one gal. Well maybe if she were the pheonix. Anyway, WHERE THE HELL WAS SPIDERMAN? What NYC’s own boy doesn’t get to ride the macy’s day float? That doesn’t seem right.

  23. papajoemambo says:

mea culpa – it was 1988 then.

  24. rdactyl says:

NOT 1984, Had to be AFTER 1988 Because RoboCop the Movie didnt come out until then, there was No robocop in 1984 yet…. The Cartoon was Marvel Action Hour from 1988 too…. Check out
